By the way -If any Japanese or Chinese manga artists are looking for more work please email to show me your art. I have one and possibly two new book projects coming up that need manga artists for them (sorry 'western' gajin people, the publisher on both books specified that it has to be Japanese or Chinese artists only. Marketing reasons and all that kind of stuff - gomen!)

QUOTE TODAY:
The well known one is: 'You cannot step into the same river twice.' OR more correctly: "We both step and do not step in the same rivers. We are and are not." OR perhaps this more hard to grasp version, but closer to the Greek original: "On those stepping into rivers staying the same other and other waters flow."

Hi Sean,
That's some interesting work that you are doing.
I'm a game designer working in Vancouver and I'm looking to transition into manga creation. I wanted to know if you knew of any good work opportunities in the UK, US, Canada, or even Japan. (I'm a US citizen, and have permanent residency status in Canada. I'm willing to move to the UK and my girlfriend is a Japanese Citizen, so I'm willing to move there as well- though I would have to practice my Japanese writing and vocabulary skills quite a bit for that :p)
The only job opportunities I'm aware of here are Tokyopop and Del Ray Manga (although I noticed many of Tokyopop's programs for manga artists are sort of falling apart, so I'm not sure if they are a viable option anymore).
As far as the kind of work I'm looking for, I'm obviously interested in getting my work published, but I'm also willing to move to work as an assistant to a more senior manga-ka for a few years, just to get myself working on manga everyday (which is all I really care about).
I have a lot of experience developing IP and managing and directing creative teams in the video game industry, which may be useful to publishers and/or established manga studios.
Anyhow, if you know of anyone who I might be interested in talking to, please do let me know.
My website is:

All my contact info is on there. You can also see some of my latest manga and IP development work here:

All the best, I'll keep any eye on your interesting blog :)
